As you know, the democrats are descending upon Charlotte en masse in a couple short weeks. I for one wish I'd thought about this a little more and planned a vacation around the week they'll be in town. Since our house is just a mile from the center of downtown, I can only imagine the headache that awaits me. In fact, the headache began yesterday when I tried to go to Reid's to get makings for dinner. They have these amazing two inch thick, rib bone in, Grateful Growers pork chops that are to-die-for. I had my menu planned and that was the only missing piece. However, when I got up to the meat case, I noticed there was only one left. When I asked the butcher about it he apologized and said the supplier cut their order way back in order to sell more to the uptown restaurants for the DNC.
If you recall, around this time last year my plans were also squashed by the democrats. Obama decided to ban certain imports which just so happened to include the everyday china pattern I'd picked out for the January nuptials. Doesn't he know not to mess with a Southern girl and her China pattern?
Needless to say, September 10 cannot come soon enough.
